Come celebrate the event that kicked off the American Revolution in Bastrop on Friday, April 18. In collaboration with Main Street Bastrop, each business in downtown Bastrop will be given two lanterns symbolizing the lanterns that Revere saw from the Old North Church steeple in Boston that spurred him on to warn his fellow countrymen that the Redcoats were coming and led to the first battle of the American Revolution!
This event will include –
Revere riding down Main Street starting at Spring Street
Reading of the poem, “Paul Revere’s Ride”
Flag ceremony by the NJROTC
Businesses and public lighting the way with lanterns
Don’t miss the revolution – mark your calendars and make plans to be there! Let’s celebrate our shared history and the beginning of a new chapter as we look forward to America’s 250th anniversary.
