Businesses in Mineola have been asked to decorate their windows and/or storefronts in honor of the semiquincentennial. The winner will receive a gift basket that will include “A Culinary Journey Through Texas History – A Texas Historic Sites Cookbook,” published by the Texas Historic Commission, among other things.
The 2026 Annual Conference of the Alliance for Texas History features a session titled “RESEARCHING AMERICA’S 250TH: ARCHIVAL FINDS FOR TEXAS HISTORIANS AT THE AMERICAN SEMISESQUICENTENNIAL.” It features a chair and four presenters from major archival resources.
